What you'll do
Join us for a unique perfume making class where you will learn the art and science of creating your own signature scent that truly elevates you. In this hands-on workshop, you will be guided through the process of blending various natural essential oils, absolutes, isolates and if desired, aromachemicals to craft personalised perfumes that truly represent you and your needs.Suitable for beginners, our experienced instructor, Dr Julie, will provide step-by-step instructions and tips to help you unleash your creativity to curate scents that take you to 'your happy place.' You will be introduced to the principles of aromatherapy so that you can apply these when crafting your perfumes to improve wellbeing, mood, and more. With over 100 natural fragrances available in our studio, we'll explore the fragrance families from fresh, floral and fruity to spicy, earthy and woody and more. You will be spoilt for choice of group favourites and niche scents like jasmine, frangipani, vanilla, rosemary, grapefruit, patchouli, and clove, to name a few. You will also have access to more than 30 natural Australian botanicals such as lemon myrtle, Rosalina, Frangonia, Buddha wood, Sandalwood and many from the local area, such as Byron Bay rose, pineapple myrtle and blue cypress to add to your sensory repertoire when creating your bespoke perfumes.Throughout the workshop, you will learn the secrets of scent layering to achieve well-balanced fragrances that suit your individual preferences. On the Gold Coast you will craft your perfumes with the magnificent Miami beach as your backdrop. We also come to you for private classes. By the end of the class, you can take home a signature scent, as well as new skills to create more artisan perfumes in the future!
Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly. No knowledge or skill required, just a nose!
What you'll get
You will go home with either a solid Australian botanicals perfume using either beeswax or calendula wax (vegan) or jojoba oil as a base or a spray perfume either using a coconut oil base or a traditional sugar cane alcohol base.
What to bring
You should not wear perfume or scent on the day as it can interfere with the creative nose.

Wherever I am in life, I notice the smell first. And wherever I go, I take my nice scents with me. I was drawn to perfumery as allows me to indulge in a sensory journey on a daily basis. Inspired by the diverse scents of the abundant natural environments of Australia, from the salty freshness of our beaches to the herbaceous pristine rainforests, to the uplifiting crisp eucalyptus bush and rustic dry powdery outback, I weave these into my artisan perfumes, fragrant beauty products and aromatic well-being remedies. Furthermore, I have been a psychological counsellor and educator for more than 30 years, and a little like Mary Poppins, have reached into my magical bag to utilise my diverse resources to teach and counsel clients to gain a greater understanding of self, emotions, relationships, life and more. One of these has been the power of scent as a sensory journey to feel and behave the way you want rather than the way you do!
