5 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests

$160 - $165 (Afterpay available)
($165 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $160/guest for 2+ guests)

In this engaging workshop, you'll immerse yourself in the art of bookbinding. You will create two books during this workshop: one paper booklet and one leather journal, as well as leave with the skills and tools to continue making books at home!
No experience is needed, Rhain will guide you through the process step by step, ensuring you feel confident and empowered throughout the class.
You will discuss all the terminology, the specifications of the materials to end up with the best finish and the different techniques to complete both a simple pamphlet, as well as the options that the often overlooked Pamphlet Stitch can open up when paired with different artist mediums.
Using high-quality materials and traditional techniques, you'll learn how to bind your own books from scratch and will leave with your tools from the day, your books and an instruction sheet to refer back to at home.

The Old Auction House is an independently run multi-use arts precinct located in the regional Victorian town of Kyneton, just an hour north of Melbourne. Housed in a historic weatherboard building, which served as the much loved Ferris auction rooms for over 80 years, the precinct opened in April 2017 and is home to a variety of artistic spaces.
The Old Auction House is currently home to a retail shop specialising in quality Australian handmade items, four working artist studios including local glass artists Leadlight By Ettore, a teaching space for visiting artists, and two gallery spaces with rotating exhibitions.
The Old Auction House is open 7 days and the entire space has been renovated to be accessible for those with prams, wheelchairs, and mobility issues.
The Old Auction House has a focus on community engagement in the arts. Each studio runs a variety of classes with different artists and materials throughout the year.
