Want to learn how to paint but don't think you have what it takes?
I am often told by people that they have no talent or can't create art. I don't believe them. I think everyone can create art with the right encouragement and some really basic knowledge that anyone can learn.
Also - it's good for you! Embracing an art practice has significant mental health benefits, offering a meditative escape and a means to connect deeply with one's emotions and surroundings. It also makes you look at the world differently and see things you never saw before.
This is a one-off course to set you up to paint and can be used as an introduction to my more comprehensive course where you will go deeper into the things we cover here.
  • Welcome and Introduction
  • Overview of what you will learn
  • Materials and Tools
  • Basics of Composition
  • Blocking and layering
  • Detail and highlights
  • Review and Celebrate

I was lucky enough to be born and raised amidst the rugged landscapes of Scotland. There I developed an early appreciation for light, colour, and form - inspired by the Impressionists.
My art employs expressive brushwork and vibrant, emotive colour palettes. I aim to invite viewers to pause and find respite from the constant stress of modern life.
I am often told by people that they have no talent or can't create art. This inspired me to teach art, developing a process that anyone can follow. Just like my teachers have done for me, I will help you to build upon to enhance your skills, regardless of your current abilities. Embracing an art practice has significant mental health benefits, offering a meditative escape and a means to connect deeply with one's emotions and surroundings.
