What you'll do
This course runs for five weeks on Thursday evenings, from May 30th to June 27th. Each session is three hours long.Looking to improve your throwing skills and take them to the next level? This course offers hands-on training and customised techniques to create more complex forms, giving you better control of the wheel. Expect both group demonstrations and personalised guidance from the instructor to help you reach your full potential.The extended three-hour sessions spread across five weeks offer ample time each week to practice and perfect your skills, and the cost of the course covers everything you need, including clay, glaze, and firing.If you're interested in dedicating more time to practising, Clay Club hosts regular sessions throughout the week.To attend, it’s necessary to have completed at least one beginner’s course, either with us or elsewhere, and feel confident using the pottery wheel to centre the clay and pull the walls to create a cylinder.Please wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing and nothing you fear getting dirty (clay washes out, but it's best not to take chances).Long nails and pottery don't mix! It is highly recommended that yours are trimmed short for the session.Please bring a towel each week. The Studio ensures every effort is taken to guarantee the survival of your work through the unpredictable ceramics process. However, the Studio can not be liable for potential losses in the kiln firing.
