Discover the beautiful art of haute couture beading with Sydney Community College in Rozelle and add some classy style to your wardrobe!
Over two days you'll learn techniques practised in Couture houses all over Paris. On the first day, we'll explore Tambour Beading using silk organza, seed beads and bugle beads to cover the basic chain stitch and vermicelli design.
Join us again the next day to cover Couture Embellishments including ribbon-work, three-dimensional beadwork and flowers.
At the end of this hands-on course, return home with practice samples you have created and the confidence to begin tackling your own amazing DIY projects!All students must be over 18+ years of age.

Charlotte Appleby is a British couture dress designer and founder of Couture Bead Masters. She trained at London College of Fashion in Handcraft and Production tailoring. She initially worked within fashion, film and theatre before setting up her own business The English Tailoress. “I always had a passion for couture beading and applied it to many of my evening wear and bridal designs”. said Charlotte. As an expert in her field, especially the ‘Luneville’ technique which is practiced in the couture houses in Paris today however its origin dates to the early 1800’s.

Charlotte celebrates the traditional art of couture beading to share her experience to other designers, enthusiasts and companies worldwide. She set up Couture Bead Masters to maintain these artisanal skills within the industry to keep the traditional techniques alive.
Alongside her private commission work, Charlotte teaches internationally, running workshops & courses teaching specialist beading skills.
