Hand Embroidery and Macrame Workshop for Kids and Teens

Just for the school holidays we’ve created a full day of fun, crafts and learning new skills! In this unique class, kids will learn how to hand embroider their own design and make a macrame rope wall hanging.In the morning, kids and teens will learn the craft of hand embroidery to create their own design. In this class, the kids have an opportunity to learn the skill of hand sewing whilst having plenty of room for creativity with colour, pattern and texture. They will learn how to set up their embroidery hoop, get their pattern ready and learn a collection of basic embroidery stitches. They will work on their own embroidery design and take home their embroidery kit to continue working on their design or for when they start their next one.In the afternoon, kids and teens will learn how to create an original, macrame wall hanging! The kids will learn how to set up their project and the basic knots of macramé. They will first make a key ring/bag tag. For their wall hanging there will be patterns to follow or they can create their own design! It will be the perfect, unique, handmade wall decoration.This workshop is suitable for complete beginners aged 9 years old and up. All tools and materials are provided for this workshop.This workshop is eligible for the Creative Kids Voucher, we are a registered provider. The workshop will need to be paid in full first, and the voucher will be redeemed and refunded once the class has commenced.

  Your own embroidery design that you have started stitching, and a small embroidery kit to do more embroidery at home. Your own handmade macrame rope key ring and your own wall hanging.
  All tools and materials are provided. Please pack a nice, healthy morning tea and lunch to bring along.
