Class size 1 to 8 (public classes), 4 to 18

$85 - $90 (Afterpay available)
(Earlybird price of $85 applies if you book into a public session 14+ days ahead)

Our mug-making class in Sydney is the perfect place to start with clay. Experience the pure meditative bliss of hand building which can only be matched by drinking out of something beautiful created by you. You’ll learn core skills like coil and slab building while creating an object you’ll enjoy every single day.
In our beautiful studio across the road from Enmore Park, we will explore a range of different mug forms and textural decorative techniques to add colour and personality to your design. You will then be ready to create your very own gorgeous mug!
Your teacher will demonstrate the coiling technique and how to successfully attach handles and other three-dimensional decorative elements to your unique mug. You will also be shown how to create different textural effects, using a range of sculpting and trimming tools. You can even decorate your surface with underglaze colours.
Your tutor is an experienced educator who keeps her classes small (a maximum of eight per class) so everyone gets the time and attention they deserve.
And the best part? After an afternoon of meditative making, you can head across the road (literally) to one of Marrickville’s most storied pubs - The Vic on the Park.

This is a beginner-friendly class accessible to people with no previous experience, and those who’ve dabbled before. Pick up some new skills and create something you’ll be proud of!
You must be at least 13 years old to attend this class (minors will need a paid accompanying adult).
What you'll get
  • Included in the price, we will clear glaze and fire your piece after class, ready for pick up from the studio in 3-4 weeks. It will be dishwasher and microwave-safe too!
  • A big ball of clay - more than enough to make a satisfyingly large mug.
  • Work with a full suite of clay tools and underglazes - everything you need to make and decorate your mug.
  • You’ll get to wear one of our gorgeous rust-coloured cotton drill aprons with soft linen straps.
  • It’s right on afternoon tea time so tea and coffee are provided (inc. regular and soy milk).
Best of all, you will get addicted to a new ritual, the calming quality of clay!
What to bring
We could say ‘wear something easy to clean, or that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. Covered shoes are ideal and think about keeping long hair out of the way’ but honestly all you need to bring is your radiant self!
