Learn the art of slab building to create your own set of mugs at Denmark Art Club, Western Australia.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll have time to make a set of two mugs, learning various techniques to shape and personalise your creations. Using dark stoneware clay, you'll start with a slab and assemble your mugs step by step.
Sally will guide you through the process, helping you customise your designs to make each piece unique.
All necessary tools and materials will be provided, ensuring you have everything you need to bring your ideas to life. Enjoy the satisfaction of creating beautiful, functional pieces that reflect your personal style.
Important details:
  • Sally will glaze and fire your piece, with the cost included in your ticket. She takes great care in finishing your handmade items but please note that clay can be unpredictable and occasionally items may break in the kiln. This is a natural part of the ceramic craft.
  • Your work will be ready for pick-up approximately 5-6 weeks after the class. She will contact you when they are ready. Please note that she can hold works for up to 4 weeks from the date of your workshop. After this period, any unclaimed pieces will unfortunately be discarded.

With over 30 years of pottery experience, a formal education in Art & Design, and a major in Studio Ceramics, I’ve traversed many creative paths, but clay has always been my true passion. My journey has included hunting, digging, studying, and mastering new skills, with pottery teaching me the virtues of patience and the beauty of imperfection.
From my studio in Fremantle, Western Australia, I create unique pieces that embody emotional authenticity, prioritizing essential beauty over conventional perfection. I am deeply passionate about sharing my love of making through teaching. I aim to provide an authentic experience where students feel comfortable exploring their own creativity. My workshops and private classes cater to all skill levels, inviting you to discover and express yourself in the captivating world of pottery.
