In this silversmithing class, you'll learn the process of designing and creating a silver or gold ring to take home. Beginners are welcome, and you can even add colorful gemstones using the unique "stone-in-place" casting technique.

The workshop will take place at "industrial bling, " a jewellery shopfront, where the public may visit during session times.

*return to ‘industrial bling’ and pick up your finished piece after it has been cast, or have it posted to you.


Knowledge required
Beginner friendly with a basic. ability to use sharp cutting tools.
 
What you'll get
Wax and carving tools, a finished artwork that you can pick up after casting or we can post it to you. *Cost of foundry casting of silver or gold is estimated on weight and size of your pieces.
 
What to bring
Just bring your enthusiasm, wear shoes, hair ties if you have long hair.

I'm an industrial designer with a Master of Design from New York's Pratt Institute, the Royal Institute of Copenhagen and UTS.
Among other achievements, I was a featured jewellery artist at MONA in Tasmania, Head of Design at the Australian National Maritime Museum and Head of Design Curriculum at the Whitehouse Institute of Design.
I make treasures you can wear or use, and I teach design skills out of my workshop, Industrial Bling, in charming the suburb of Potts Point, Sydney, Australia.
I believe there is a creative CORE inside all of us – and, having taught at a university, I'm great at helping you find yours. When you become a student at Industrial Bling, I'll share my unique and easy methods of making with you.
In my workshops, you can learn how to make:

  • gold rings or pendants
