Glass Art Class for Kids

Experience creating glass art with the children in your life - what a fab time you'll all have!

8 to 18 years     2 hours Class size 1 to 4 guests

$145 (Afterpay available)

By popular request Jenie has created this brand new workshop, for all kids 8 - 18! You can now come along with your grandchildren, your nieces and your nephews and they each make a framed piece of art in glass.
This two hour workshop is a fun and creative experience for children from eight to 18 years old, where our aim is for all families to enjoy a new experience together.
This is a hands-on activity where kids create a piece of glass art. Each child can choose their own designs that they can possibly draw at home (13cm x 13cm) or they can choose from one of the designs in the studio.
During the workshop they'll learn:
  • What glass is
  • Basic and correct skills required to use glass as an artistic medium
  • The fundamentals of glass cutting
  • About art glass and how it performs in the kiln
  • Each child will be introduced to the endless potential of glass fusing and slumping
Make wonderful unique memories! Everyone loves the two hours they spend in the studio. Why not bring the cousins and have a fabulous catch-up?  Everyone is a beginner in this class - it's a new Level One workshop.
After the workshop Jenie will fire their works in her kiln and frame it in a box frame like you can see in the images above.
Once the class is over and the clean up is done, all you need to do is wait for an email from Jenie showing the progress of their mini masterpiece and she’ll let you know when it is ready to be picked up, usually between 10 to 14 days after your workshop.
Your artworks will be kept here at her Richmond studio for three months after the workshop: it’ll be donated to charity after that time.
Please remember that you can come to this workshop as often as you like. Come back and make a different design each time. Its fun, creative and non-stressful here in the studio!
Please note:
  • All children need to be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the workshop. You'll need to stay during the entire workshop and help your children with their creations: their safety is your responsibility, and your presence will enhance their experience.
  • During the workshop, Jenie will take photographs of you for her website and social media, but if you don’t want this to happen just let her know.
Location:
My studio is a part of the Swan Street Artist Studio complex. We are on Level 1 of 550 Swan Street Richmond. Its a contemporary art space run by Professional Artists, you’ll love having your workshop in this unique first floor warehouse.
Car parks are surprisingly easy to find around our studios. We are on the intersection of Swan Street, and Bendigo Street, Richmond.
You can often park right outside – fortunately we are at the quiet end of Swan Street. But remember the parking here is two hours, and Clearways apply, so we’ll set our alarms and make sure we all move our cars in good time.
Covid notice:
If you or your family members have been unwell contact Jenie and we’ll simply reschedule your class. Of course, there’s zero cost for rescheduling.
Private workshops:
If you don’t see a time and date that suits you here please message Jenie here on ClassBento and we will add a new date that suits you. I am always happy to add other dates or create a private workshop for you and your family, if that suits you better. The jewellery you see here was all made as a special request. You can do this too, just let me know.
I look forward to seeing you and your children soon.
