Looking for unique things to do in the Ballarat area? Get hands-on with some garlic and learn how to braid garlic at The Paddock Lal Lal's garlic braiding workshop!
This class is perfect for beginners, as you will learn step by step how to create a gorgeous traditional garlic braid using freshly harvested local Australian garlic from our farm.
This class will cover:
  • How to select and prepare the garlic bulbs for braiding.
  • Step-by-step demonstration and instruction on how to braid.
  • A beautiful traditional garlic braid created on your very own to take home and showcase or give as a gift.
You'll finish this class feeling inspired and proud of what you've accomplished.
We've partnered with Mount Buninyong Winery to offer a unique experience where you can create your own traditional garlic braid including a delicious farm-to-table pizza lunch. All of this takes place in the scenic surroundings of Mount Buninyong Winery.

As we are a small business, all sales on our workshops are final. No refunds will be issued for cancellations by customers. Re-schedules are possible subject to availability. If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking you must do this at least seven days before your class to cancel or reschedule.
Please note that refunds will ONLY be provided when a class is cancelled by us, due to staff unavailability, low booking numbers or where the CFA declares an extreme or catastrophic fire rating.
For Private Bookings we require a 50% deposit for large groups, this deposit will not be refunded if there is a cancellation (7 days prior) or no show to the class.
Important Note: Rescheduling requests must be sent via email only.
Important information:
  • Due to the size of the kitchen, your pizza preference will be captured at the start of the workshop. At the end of the workshop, the group will eat together for a shared pizza lunch, with five pizzas served at one time.
  • For the experience of all participants in the class, we have a no-children policy.
  • This ticketed event requires prior purchase. Photos will be taken on the day. By registering for this event you consent to your photograph being taken for use in The Paddock Lal Lal marketing and social media. If you do not wish for your photograph to be taken, please advise the staff or the photographer on the day. During the class, you are welcome to take photographs. Video recording is strictly prohibited.
  • Please note we don't allow outside food or beverages during the workshop.
