Our furniture repair and restoration class covers tools and techniques, methodology, ethical vs financial considerations as well as painting and finishing options.
By the end of this one-day woodworking workshop, you will have sufficient understanding and confidence to tackle simple projects on your own (with a little help from google).
For this class, we encourage you to bring in refurb projects from home. The session will revolve around the breaking down and reassembly of items of furniture, with other exercises mixed in throughout the day. Our facilitators can advise you on how these techniques can be applied to your own projects.
This course will take place over one six-hour session. A finished product is not guaranteed, but you will be well on your way!
Upon completion of this short workshop you will:
  • Have knowledge of general safety practices in a workshop setting
  • Understand the principles, benefits and potential of refurbishment and upcycling
  • Understand how the skills you learn in this workshop can be applied to other projects
  • Have some basic knowledge of cleaning, painting and finishing techniques
  • Have guided, hands-on experience using basic tools
  • Have a huge sense of accomplishment!
