Weaver and potter Ruth Shteinman has spent the last decade honing her original take on the crafts of macrame, crochet, basketry, and weaving to create a ‘new look’ kind of wall hanging.Come join Ruth for a 3-hour workshop where you will get to select from her treasure trove of wools, felts, and cotton yarns and create a truly original hanging for your home.Ruth has spent years collecting yarns from all over the world, and many participants have commented that “it’s like being a kid in a candy store” when choosing yarns with which to create.

Her art has been exhibited in countless Art prizes in Australia and her ceramics are showcased in several museum shops around the world.Making art is as important to Ruth as sharing her knowledge and outlook on working with natural materials.Not only will you have a fun time learning with Ruth, but you will also experience a working artist’s studio, high up in the treetops in leafy Annandale, one of Sydney’s most preserved neighbourhoods.All levels of experience welcome.
