In this course, you will learn all the basics of woodworking and take a hands-on approach to master new skills, as well as understand some basic theory too.What this course will cover:
- Timber identification and selection
- Timber furniture design principles
- Safe use of woodworking machinery including drill press, jigsaw, router, drop saw, thicknessor, drum sander, orbital sander and panel saw.
- Safe use of hand tools
- Basic joinery techniques including mitres, clamping up a table top and use of biscuit joining machines
- Sanding and finishing techniques

We are the only place in Melbourne to offer classes in both woodworking and ceramics under the one roof. Our workshop is a light-filled 700 sqm space in a leafy area of Heidelberg Heights Victoria with transport and coffee nearby. Our woodworking school has state of the art machinery and our ceramics studio uses premium quality Shimpo pottery wheels. Come and learn with us!
