Flamenco Cajón Class: All Levels – Flamenco & Latin Rhythms

Hi, I’m Gerar Iglesias, and I’m excited to share my passion for flamenco and the cajón with you!I’ve been playing the cajón flamenco since I was 15 years old, but my connection to flamenco runs even deeper. My father and grandfather were flamenco singers, and my grandfather had the incredible experience of performing on a famous radio station in Spain. Flamenco is in my blood, and growing up in Madrid, the heart of flamenco culture, I was surrounded by the music and rhythm from a very young age.I had the privilege of learning the cajón at the prestigious "Amor de Dios" school in Madrid, known for producing some of the finest flamenco artists. Over the past 15 years, I’ve been performing in renowned "tablaos flamencos" (flamenco venues), gaining invaluable experience on stage and collaborating with some of the best artists in the industry.In 2016 and 2017, I had the opportunity to work as a cajón instructor in Sydney, where I discovered my passion for teaching and sharing the power of rhythm with others. Now, at 34, I’m thrilled to bring my knowledge and love for flamenco to Melbourne through ClassBento.Something special about the cajón is that while it looks like a simple wooden box, it has the potential to carry the heart and soul of flamenco's complex rhythms and emotions.
