Festive Glass Fusing Workshop

Festive Fusing Fun for Everyone.

3 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests

$199 (Afterpay available)

Yay it’s on again!
Come and have some fun, enjoy the Festive season, and create something fabulous in fused glass. See the pictures here – you can make any of these pieces or adapt one of these for your own masterpiece.
If you want to try fusing glass for the first time, this is a workshop for you!
You might want to make candle sconces a “Santa’s Belt” plate for your Christmas table or something that is Christmassy colours. You might want to make a couple of Christmassy coasters or even some modern art. You don’t need to be artistic to make really lovely coasters or candle scones as gifts for your friends and family. You have a 30 x 30cm kiln shelf to play with.
**Please note that if you are coming to a workshop from December 6, 2024 or later in 2024, there is a chance that your masterpieces will NOT be ready fired and finished before the Christmas holidays. Please try and get here in November 2024.
Maybe it’s a special gift, a thankyou or a personal treasure for yourself. You’ll love this festive half day we spend together! Of course, you can come as many times as you like.
During the workshop you will learn:
the basic and correct skills required to use glass as an artistic medium
the fundamentals of glass cutting
about art glass how it performs in the kiln
you’ll be introduced to the endless potential of glass fusing and slumping.
Warning! You may be addicted! I did!
What do I wear? Please wear clothes that includes some kind of sleeve (not a singlet top) and closed toe shoes. (No thongs, no sandals that expose your toes). Maybe wear your most fabulous Christmas outfit! What’s not to love?
When do I get my “art glass” back?
Once the class is over and the clean-up is done, all you need to do is wait for an email from me showing the progress of your plate. I’ll let you know when it is ready to be picked up, usually about 14 days after your workshop. Your masterpiece will be kept here at my Richmond studio for 1 month after the workshop, it’ll be donated to charity after that time. If your workshop is after December 15th, there's no way I can get your pieces fired and back to you before the studio closes for summer holidays. Please make sure you get here in time for the turnaround you want.
Covid or flu – Rescheduling
If you’re feeling under the weather from flu or covid, no worries, contact me and we’ll reschedule your class. Of course, there’s zero cost for rescheduling.
Can I bring my kids to this workshop?
Everyone is welcome (over 18). You can come with your children or grandchildren, however, they’ll be charged the same rate as you and they’ll need to be “supervised” by you throughout the whole class. Please let me know if you are bringing under 18’s.

Where is the studio?
My studio is a part of the Swan Street Artist Studio complex. We are on Level 1 of 550 Swan Street Richmond. It’s a contemporary art space run by Professional Artists, you’ll love having your workshop in this unique first floor warehouse. It’s a creative, fun, safe, friendly and stimulating environment. You’ll love being here!
Car parks are surprisingly easy to find around our studios. We are on the intersection of Swan Street, and Bendigo Street, Richmond.
Most of the time, you can often park right outside – fortunately we are at the quiet end of Swan Street. But remember the parking here is 2 hours so we’ll get you to set your alarm and make sure we all move our cars at the 2 hour point. Remember there are Clearways in Swan Street, Richmond.
Also, there’s a 6-minute walk from Burnley Railway Station to 550 Swan Street (its 450 metres away). Tram 70 stops a few metres from our front door.
Private Workshops.
I run loads of private workshops. I am always happy to add other dates or create a private workshop for you and your friends, if that suits you better. Just let me know.
