What you'll do
Looking for unique things to do in Melbourne? Join this fabric painting workshop with Ro Bruhn!This workshop is all about having fun and being creative. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never painted before, in this class you will all work on one piece of fabric, using acrylic paint to make marks to loosen up and avoid the blank canvas syndrome.The fabric is then divided up and you will receive a metre to continue to work on by yourself with more paint and markers, adding your own shapes and colours making the fabric unique to you.You get to take home your own beautiful creation that you can frame, or if you prefer, it can be made into a cushion cover, throw, bag or whatever appeals to you.

I've been making art all of my life, painting, textiles, jewellery, book making, mosaics and print making. I trained as an engineering draftswoman many years ago, then trained as a graphic designer, all the time creating art as well. I then decided twenty years ago to create art full time.I have a large studio and taught from home, then I was invited to teach all over Australia and New Zealand, by individual groups, as well as at major textile retreats including Uluru. I love sharing my years of knowledge and experience with like minded students, I've made some wonderful art friends over the years from many of them. I'm also very focused on sustainability and use a large range of recycled materials in my work.I've exhibited my work at a wide range of exhibitions around Australia. My work has been published in magazines and books here in Australia and overseas. I've also taught on-line workshops for a company in the US.
