In this fun and relaxed three-hour workshop, you will learn dynamic techniques for creating your own self-portrait.
Self-portraits are a wonderful means for self-exploration and reflection. Guided by local artist Milla Weideman, she will help bring your portrait to life.
Using acrylic paint and charcoal on cardboard or paper, you will learn techniques for expressive portrait painting. Milla will guide you through capturing the proportions of the head, colour mixing, and mark-making. Above all, there will be an emphasis on expression over accuracy and character over likeness.
Materials will be provided but please feel free to bring your materials. Also, kindly prepare a reference image to help better assist you in the class.
Note: While self-portraits are highly encouraged, you may also paint a portrait of a loved one.
All skill levels are welcome.
