In this Melbourne workshop, Jessica comes to you to share her love of eucalyptus and the wonder of experimenting with plants in textile design. You will learn some basic techniques for dyeing with eucalyptus and native plants.
The rich oils of eucalyptus (also known for their healing properties) combined with metals and silk fibre, creates unpredictable patterns and indelible mark-making.
You will receive a silk pillowcase which you will decorate with a wide range of eucalyptus plants. You will then bind the pillowcase and plant matter together to produce a dye bundle.
This will be processed through heat in a pot of eucalyptus dye after the workshop, and returned to you by mail.
This class is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in nature and be inspired to design beautiful patterns onto your pillowcases.
