The drum has been used as a medium for healing ceremonies by custodians of the most ancient civilizations in the world since time immemorial. Drums have long been used in healing ceremonies in many African tribes. In essence, crafted drum rhythms act as' valves' to relieve blockages in their participants ' vital physical energy flow.
Djembe is the classic West African drum that creates music with intensity, complexity and precision. In this workshop, we’ll start with the basics and build up to a polyrhythm before long.
Dan has been playing all over Canberra and the surrounding region for the past ten years and apart from professional performances he runs workshops frequently. You’ll be surprised how soon you’ll be playing some hypnotic beats!
