Would you like to learn how to draw what you see? In this class you will explore various fundamental drawing techniques to capture the essence of what you observe!
You can relax and unwind with short, guided drawing warm-ups, refine your drawing methods and finally create your own unique artwork to take home.
With the help from your experienced teacher, you will explore the main principles of drawing, the power of observation, and how to create compelling compositions from scratch. You don't need to have any previous drawing experience!
You'll learn about the importance of line, value, texture, form and explore the mediums of graphite, charcoal, pastels, and coloured pencils.
This class will cover:
  • The core principles of drawing and how to create a compelling artwork.
  • How to consider shape, form, proportion, texture, value
  • Expert methods for realistic drawing.
  • How to use drawing as a solid foundation for future artworks.
  • How to train your observational skills.
  • How to draw in a relaxed, energetic, and confident way.
You will get the opportunity to draw from a range of references: still life scenes, nature, photographs and models. Through demonstrations, exercises, and one-to-one tuition, you will be supported in developing your observational drawing skills.
In our small sized, casual classes, you can experiment with diverse materials and you are welcome to work on your own individual ideas and projects.
This class runs regularly, and the class sessions are not connected to each other, that means you can book a session (or several sessions) whenever it suits you best.
