What you'll do
Using beautiful Merino wool fibres, Gill will guide you through the process of making a reversible, seamless bag using the resist method of felt-making. You’ll be able to choose your own colours and designs, and Gill will show you how to make pockets and handles, along with the potentials of adding fabrics and other fibres for some interesting finishing touches.Felt making is an ancient craft with many modern-day applications. It’s incredibly forgiving and quite surprisingly versatile in what you can do with just the basic techniques and minimal materials. It does require a bit of repetitive arm and hand action over time, which may not suit some people. Some prior experience in felt making would be useful in this workshop as it is a more advanced technique; however, if you’re super keen and happy to jump right in, the projects can be modified for different skill and mobility levels.
