Looking for unique things to do in Melbourne? Learn how to make your own jewellery with the art of sand casting!
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn and create amazing metal jewellery. Whether you are a complete beginner or want to expand your existing skills, this class is perfect for you.
Everything you need for the workshop will be supplied, including 25 grams of sterling silver. With this amount, you can create up to three unique jewellery pieces. If you have any scrap metal that you'd like to melt down, feel free to bring it along as well!
During the workshop, you will have access to a variety of objects to mould and cast. You can also bring your own objects if you have something specific in mind. Additionally, we will provide synthetic stones that you can cast in place. If you prefer, you can bring your own synthetic stones or natural sapphires, and we will guide you on their suitability for the project.
Safety is a top priority in my workshop. Before we start, we will go over occupational health and safety guidelines, as well as how to use the tools and equipment safely. To ensure your safety, it is important to wear enclosed shoes and have your hair tied back. We will provide a natural fiber apron to protect your clothing.
To keep your energy levels up throughout the day, lunch will be provided, along with tea, coffee, and snacks. You'll have everything you need to focus on unleashing your creativity and enjoying the process.
By the end of the workshop, you can take home your DIY metal jewellery to cherish for years to come.
