Cultural Awareness and Painting Workshop

Learn about Australian Indigenous culture and paint a group artwork



2 hours Class size 6 to 200 guests    

$80 - $95 ($80 for Weekdays, $95 for Weekends)


This cultural awareness workshop is led by artist Peta Joy Williams a Wiradjuri woman, born in Sydney.
Peta will share her culture, her language, and the history of Aboriginal Art and you will reflect on your own roots and stories.
Your team will then work together on their own mini canvases to tell their individual personal stories using Aboriginal Symbols. Then each canvas will come to their to tell a bigger story showing all our stories are part of a bigger picture.
Bookings must be confirmed and paid two weeks prior to the confirmed time
Bookings work better when numbers can be squared such as 3x3, 3x4 or larger numbers.
Customs colours can be requested with notice.
Please note: Peta Joy will not be available for bookings during Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week 2023.

As I bring all you need for the session parking is required at your cost.
If you feel you need an apron you are welcome to wear one but they really aren’t required

Peta Joy Williams is a Wiradjuri woman, born in Sydney. She has been painting since before she can remember, and her work is a range of paintings, weaving and cultural awareness workshops. After High School she completed a Cert IV in Aboriginal Art and Cultural practices and a Diploma in Fine Arts. In 2012 she founded Wiradjuri Wave, for which she creates custom Aboriginal artworks on sports paraphernalia and fashion products. Peta currently teaches Wiradjuri at Eora College, facilitating art workshops and mural projects.
