In this fabulous two-day workshop with renowned Australian textile artist, Irene Manion, you will learn a new method of free machine embroidery that will transform your stitching skills. You will discover how to create long stitches on the surface of the fabric, allowing the sheen of glossy embroidery threads to brilliantly reflect light, unlike traditional embroidery techniques that bury thread deep into the fabric, limiting the play of light.
Together, we will embark on a creative journey as we craft an appliqué inspired by the captivating Rose Window of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Using a variety of fabrics, we will bring this iconic design to life through the art of stitching. With this special technique, we will transform the fabric into a luminous, reflective window of coloured light lines.
Throughout the workshop, Irene will guide you step-by-step, providing clear instructions and expert knowledge to ensure your success. This class is designed for intermediate-level stitchers who are familiar with their machines and will transform your approach to stitching.
The class will be filled with inspiration and creativity, giving you the opportunity to explore your artistic side. You'll work with a range of beautiful materials and colours, allowing your imagination to soar as you stitch.
By the end of the workshop, you'll be well on the way to creating a stunning appliqué that captures the essence of the Rose Window. This unique piece will be a testament to your newfound skills and creativity.
Join us for this transformative workshop with Irene Manion and learn a new method of free machine embroidery that will elevate your stitching to new heights.
