About the workshopIn this brush lettering workshop, Alena will guide you through the basics of brush lettering using STAEDTLER Pigment Arts brush pens. You'll start by mastering fundamental strokes and then combining them into words. In the second half, you'll focus on creating Christmas cards, learning how to write "Merry Christmas" and applying creative techniques with the Pigment Arts brush pens. By the end, you'll have crafted your own unique Christmas card to take home and feel inspired and equipped to create some amazing cards or gift tags using brush lettering heading into the Christmas season!About the artistAlena is a Sydney-based graphic designer and self-taught hand letterer/calligrapher. Her love for handwritten art began in her youth in Russia, nurtured by her mother who taught her cursive writing. This passion deepened during her Bachelor of Visual Communication studies at university. Disenchanted by the digital age's dominance, Alena embraced brush and nib pens, mastering brush lettering and calligraphy. She now shares this timeless art with others, believing that the skill of handwriting should never be replaced by digital fonts and typefaces.
