We welcome beginners & those wishing to try our studio to join us for a Friday evening of wine, nibbles and a relaxed introduction to the fundamentals of clay. Offering you the opportunity to try your hand at both wheel throwing and hand-building under the guidance of Bisque Studios friendly teachers.
If you’ve been curious about whether hand-building or wheel throwing is for you, this class is the perfect introduction to help you decide. Join us for a chat, live demonstrations and conversations about clay. An evening of social creativity to let your hair down and get your hands dirty, jump on the wheel and enjoy a taster of creating with clay.
We’ll share the basics of wheel throwing and hand-building, allowing time for each participant to create works with both techniques. Completing the evening with a greater understanding of working with clay & which path into pottery might be for you. Following this session, if you’d like to join one of our 6 week ceramic classes, you’ll receive a $20 gift voucher to jump into our term.
If you’ve made some pieces you’d like to keep, you’ll be welcome to choose & pay a minimal fee to have our studio team complete the trimming, glazing & firing process for you, ready for pick-up a few weeks post event.

What you'll get

What to bring
Working on the wheel is messy and harder than it looks, it's very normal to make a couple of mistakes along the way! Please bring an apron and towel and wear clothes that wash easily. Long nails also get in the way on the wheels, so please trim long nails beforehand.
