Life surprises you if you follow your dreams;
And leads you to your true calling.”
Shipra is a passionate watercolour and botanical artist. Her fascination lies in the tremendous variety of exhilarating flora and fauna in this beautiful country. She specialises in native botanical subjects. With her eye for detail and meticulous nature, she is drawn by the vision of being able to translate it beautifully into her work. Her motto is, “simplicity breeds extraordinary work”.
She has followed her passion for over 20 years, starting with a 5 year degree in fine arts from a premier institute, gaining experience as a set designer and then as a store planner and visual merchandiser for almost a decade, before finally following her heart to come back to her true calling - visual arts.
During her initial years in Australia, Shipra lived in a splendid town home surrounded with nature, where she started enjoying gardening and collecting leaves and intriguing remains of plants, sparking her interest in botanical art, particularly Australian Natives.
This, combined with her passion for painting, gave her the fuel to start formal training in Watercolour and Botanical Art.
Over the years as an artist, Shipra has been the recipient of multiple awards and recognitions and displayed her artworks in various reputed exhibitions. Some awards include; a finalist in prestigious IABCA awards, an honourable mention from the Botanical Art Society of Australia and artist of the season in the Botanical Art Queensland newsletter. Additionally, she has been the Vice President and committee member of various art societies both in Sydney, and in Brisbane.
Shipra is now a well-recognized artist, tutor and illustrator.
Art is her spirit’s true passion.
