What you'll do
Do you work with natural fibre yarn or cloth in your craftwork? Would you like to add colour to your work in a more natural way? Join us in this full-day workshop in Melbourne.During the workshop, you will learn various techniques, such as preparing and mordanting your fibres and extracting colours from local and seasonal plants, weeds, and food scraps. We will also explore modifying colours and how to set up a safe workplace. Additionally, we will experiment with over-dyeing using Indigo to create even more exquisite colour variations.At the end of the day, you will have many colour swatches of yarn and fabrics to take home, serving as a beautiful record of your unique creations. You will also receive an information sheet with details on how to continue experimenting with natural dyes and setting up your own dyeing projects at home.Discover the beauty of natural fibres and the magical transformation that can be achieved with a more natural approach to adding colour.Please note that natural dyes and Indigo dye can stain clothing and footwear, so be sure to wear something old that you don't mind getting stained.
