Experience the joy of creating your own handcrafted journal in our immersive three-hour bookbinding workshop. If you love the feel of a beautifully made book and the satisfaction of making something unique, this workshop is for you!
Held in the welcoming workshop space of Zetta Florence, nestled in the vibrant Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, this workshop is led by a practising artist and experienced educator, Nicole Wassell. Nicole brings years of teaching experience across all levels, making this session perfect for both complete beginners and those looking to enhance their current skills.
You’ll start by exploring the stunning array of papers available at Zetta Florence, selecting your own cover and endpapers to craft a truly one-of-a-kind journal.
Throughout the workshop, Nicole will guide you through essential techniques, from sewing pages into signatures and constructing book blocks, to adding endpapers, building hard covers, and creating a simple yet durable spine.
At the end of the session, you'll leave with an 80-page journal or sketchbook, meticulously bound using exquisite handmade and beautifully printed papers. Even more, you'll gain the skills and knowledge to continue your bookbinding journey at home.
All materials and tools are provided, along with detailed step-by-step notes, so all you need to bring is your passion for creativity and a love of beautiful things!
