Looking for unique things to do in Bowral? Join our beekeeping workshop!
Bowral Bee Company Pty Ltd teaches people from tiny tots to more experienced individuals the importance of pollination and the role bees have in our environment.
We delve into the world of bees, their life cycle, how they make and store the honey we buy in the supermarkets, as well as the pests and diseases they live with each and every day.
We then get dressed up in bee suits with gloves and get hands-on with bees. We have several hives, and if there's honey available, we will extract some, do a quality test on it and taste it.
The schedule is as follows:
  • 9am: Bee school
  • 11am: Morning tea
  • 11:30am: Hands-on with bees
  • 1pm: Finish
Note:
  • The property has toilet facilities to freshen up.
  • This property is a working farm. We have cows, sheep, horses, ducks, geese, pheasants, quails, and many more amazing animals. Please be respectful to them and the property.
Parents if your children are from ages 4 to age 10 inclusive they can be part of your adult booking free of charge.

Bowral Bee Company was created to produce products we use every day to keep us sanitary and clean. We have a wealth of products we manufacture from the byproducts the bees produce in their colonies. The Honey and Beeswax is extracted to produce lip balms, lip scrubs, hand moisturisers, Body moisturisers, bath salts, serums, soap, candles and many more items in our store. We have over 140 different products. In the early days Bowral Bee Company donated 80% of the honey produced to wildlife refuges for the care of sick and injured animals. We still continue this tradition.
Today we are known as Bowral Bee Company Pty Ltd and own two apiaries called Bowral Bee Honey and Bowral Bee Nectar. We also do crop pollination services through our company Bowral Bee Company Pollination Services.
Bowral Bee Company attend Schools and RAS NSW farm days to educate children about the importance of bees in our environment as well as how food is produced through the process of pollination by honey bees.
