In this class, you’ll dive into the art of basket weaving. Twining is an ancient craft used all over the world to create everything from strong, durable carriers, to fine intricate vessels.
It's a fantastic way to start your basket making journey. Traditionally used with natural fibres, this craft can be adapted for any material. For this class, we’ll be using hemp twine to create your own unique basket.
This is an intro class, don’t worry if you have no experience. You’ll be guided through the process in a welcoming and supportive environment. All tools and materials for the class are provided so just bring your willingness to learn!
By the end of the class, you can leave with your own mini twined basket or continue your creation at home.

My name is Leah. I’m the owner and creator behind This Lush Corner an online fibre store and now a learning space to help you dive into a new craft.
I’m a Fibre artist and accredited teacher through the Australian Crochet Guild and bring my lifelong experience in crochet and fibre crafts. I am a lover of not only crochet, but knitting, machine knitting, basket weaving and Pine needle basketry crafts.
I choose slow fashion, mending and repurposing rather than disposal. There's something special about the process of creating or repairing something by hand, it's a mindful activity that allows us to slow down and appreciate the craftsmanship involved.
It's a way to preserve traditional crafts and share stories with others and pass on knowledge.
If you are ready to try your hand at a new skill, then let’s jump in and discover the joy of making together!
