Bakery Hill Distillery is a family owned and operated
distillery that has been producing world-renowned
single malt whiskies for over 20 years.
The distillery was founded by former chemistry
teacher David Baker, who was tired of being told the
only place where whisky could be made was Scotland,
because of the ‘special air and water’. David believed
that if you understood the chemistry and modified it
for local conditions, you could make great whisky right
here in Australia. So, he set up the Bakery Hill Distillery
to prove just that.
Today, Bakery Hill is one of Australia’s most globally
recognised and award-winning whisky distilleries,
including being named Southern Hemisphere Whisky
of the Year in the 2020 Whisky Bible.
What sets Bakery Hill whisky apart from other
Australian distilleries is the team’s dedication to
quality. Bakery Hill handcrafts each of its whiskies
from single casks, to produce malt of exceptional
character, consistency and detail. Their whiskies
are matured for at least 6-8 years, which makes
them some of Australia’s oldest and most refined
Single Malts.
In addition to producing and selling whisky products,
the Bakery Hill team has a passion for educating
people on how real whisky is made and how it can
be enjoyed. Bakery Hill hosts regular distillery tours
and whisky tastings for novices, enthusiasts and
aficionados alike.
