What you'll do

Discover the fascinating world of architecture and design in our Art + Architecture Workshop! In this workshop, you'll dive into three engaging art sessions focused on famous architects or architectural styles. You’ll have the chance to create your own masterpieces inspired by renowned architects to take home with you.

Don’t worry if you’re new to art or architecture – this workshop is designed for beginners and experts alike. It’s a fun-filled, full-day experience where you can take a break from screens, connect with friends, and unleash your creativity through art and design.

Full-day experience from 10AM to 3PM
Recommended for ages 7+
Limited spots available: maximum of 10 children per day
All materials provided (except a white-page notebook, so don't forget to bring one!)
Snacks provided (crackers and fruits), but feel free to bring additional snacks and lunch
Drop-off at 10AM | Pick-up at 3PM

Throughout the day, you’ll explore modern architecture inspired by Friedensreich Hundertwasser or delve into Medieval architecture, depending on the day you join us. You'll engage in three unique art sessions and get hands-on with various materials to create stunning pieces of art. The experience may leave you feeling inspired, accomplished, and filled with newfound knowledge about the world of architecture.

Join us at Iris Art Studio in Doonside for a day filled with creativity, art, and exploration. Let your imagination soar as you bring home your architectural masterpieces inspired by some of the greatest minds in the field.

Day program:

(13/01/25): Modern Architecture inspired by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, an Austrian artist, architect, and environmentalist known for his unique, vibrant, and organic style.

10.00-10.15 Welcome, introduction, and rules
10.15-11.00 Art Session 1* – Presentation about Hundertwasser's art. Observational drawing, exploring nature pattern.
11.00-11.15 Snack break
11.15-1.00 Art Session 2: Make a model of the house inspired by Friedensreich Hundertwasser
1-1.30 Lunch break
1.30-2.30 Art Session 3: Paint a landscape inspired by Friedensreich Hundertwasser artworks
2.30-3 Reflection of the day, clean-up, and parent pick-up

Studio location: U5, 17-19 Hill End Road, Doonside 2767. It's a 3-minute walk from Doonside station, opposite Commonwealth Bank, on the same side of the street as the Post Office. The studio entrance is next to Doonside AutoParts shop. ????????Parking! Everywhere on the street. Very convenient public free 4-hour parking is near Doonside kindergarten. ‼️The studio is located on the first level. Please note there are a few steps up, but no lift.
