Looking for unique things to do in Capalaba? This workshop offers the opportunity to learn the ancient art of basket weaving using natural materials such as Piccabeen palm branches and hand-dyed raffia.
Over the course of two hours, we will weave a small basket, allowing you to learn the basic weaving technique. We welcome you to bring along any other natural materials that you would like to include in your baskets, such as feathers, shells, or beads.
Basket weaving is almost as old as human history, it is a skill that has been passed down from generation to generation. It involves taking fibres from the landscape in order to create something useful and, of course, beautiful.
Throughout this relaxing class, you'll create a basket for your own home to display and admire!
