Our Story – Kookaburra Hollow
Hi, I’m Jodie, the heart behind Kookaburra Hollow! Our journey began with a deep appreciation for Australian creativity and craftsmanship, bringing together talented artisans to showcase their unique work and share their skills with others. Nestled amongst the trees on Tamborine Mountain’s iconic Gallery Walk, Kookaburra Hollow is more than just a shop—it’s a creative hub where people can experience handmade products, connect with makers, and take part in hands-on workshops.
We believe that creativity is meant to be shared, which is why Kookaburra Hollow isn’t just about selling handmade goods—it’s also about learning, making, and inspiring others. Our makers don’t just create beautiful products; they also run interactive workshops where people can learn directly from the artists behind the work. Whether it’s pottery, painting, resin art, or woodworking, we provide a space where customers can experience the joy of creating something with their own hands.
How It All Started
I’ve always had a passion for handmade artistry and supporting local businesses, but the idea for Kookaburra Hollow truly took flight when I realised how many incredible creators lacked a dedicated space to share their work. From there, Kookaburra Hollow was born—a space where small businesses, artisans, and creatives could come together to showcase and sell their handcrafted products in an environment that values authenticity, quality, and community.
Why I Love Teaching & Sharing My Passion
I believe creativity should be accessible to everyone, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone light up when they learn a new skill or create something with their own hands. Teaching workshops allows me to connect with people, share my knowledge, and inspire others to explore their creative potential. Whether it’s painting, crafting, or exploring other artistic mediums, I love guiding people through the process and showing them just how capable they are.
A Creative Hub for Makers & Workshops
Kookaburra Hollow isn’t just a retail space—it’s a hub for creativity, learning, and collaboration. Our makers create a wide variety of handmade products across multiple artistic mediums, from clay and pottery to sewing, resin work, and woodworking.
But we don’t just sell handmade products—we also offer workshops run by our talented makers in their areas of expertise. We provide a dedicated space for local artisans to share their skills and teach hands-on classes, making creativity more accessible to everyone. Some of the workshops we host include:
Clay making & pottery
Sewing & fabric crafts
Kids’ painting & creative arts
Resin work & epoxy creations
Woodworking & handcrafted homewares
Kids’ fairy garden making
And so much more!
Our workshops cater to all ages and skill levels, offering a chance for both locals and visitors to connect with our makers, learn something new, and create their own special piece to take home.
If you're looking to explore your creativity, support local artisans, or even take part in one of our workshops, we’d love to welcome you to Kookaburra Hollow!
