Viv lives in the beautiful Adelaide Hills and began making pottery since the beginning of 2020. She throws functional ceramic wares on a potters wheel and also incorporates hand-building in her works. Viv has showcased her work at various markets and events including Gilles, Gathered and Bowerbird.
As a self-taught ceramicist, Viv fully understands that everyone's artistic journey has to begin somewhere. In her own practice she has spent hours upon hours studying a range of different techniques and styles from various ceramicists around globe.
Clay brings Viv so much joy! But along the way, she has failed many times and often. This is evident in the amount of clay that needs reclaiming in her studio and the strands of greys on her head!
It is through an open mind and an incredibly strong desire to learn from those mistakes that Viv began her exploration of and continues to develop her own identity as an artist. She has discovered that the possibilities with clay are endless and she aims to encourage those who are curious about pottery to just give it a go.
