Looking for a unique textiles class in Brisbane? Join master powertex trainer Natalie Parish in this engaging workshop where you'll learn how to upcycle textiles and create your very own standing fairy or angel figurine. Weekend workshops are rare and offered only a couple of times a year.
Over One Weekend, you'll have the opportunity to delve into the world of design and creation. In the first class, you'll learn how to build the form of your figurine. The first day
focuses building your own unique form using a plaster bust and common every day items. followed by dressing your figurine through fabric hardening. While all materials are provided, you're welcome to bring your own unique pieces of memorabilia, broken jewellery, or scrappy textiles like lace to add a personal touch to your creation.
In the final session, and after overnight drying time you'll have the chance to embellish and add color to your dried and hardened artwork. Discover the art of pigment blending, metallic highlighting, and dry-brushing techniques to make your figurine truly stand out.
This workshop is Beginner and NDIS friendly, and support workers are warmly welcomed. If needed, an additional discounted morning session can be added to reduce any stress.
While this class is an advanced variation on the Powertex standing statue class, it remains beginner-friendly.
