What’s Included in Your Kit 1. Paint: The key to vibrant, successful watercolour art is using artist-quality paint. For this class, we’ll use Holbein watercolor paint, known for its excellent pigment quality and performance. I’ve prepared small palettes for just $15, which will last you through the term. 2. Brush Washer Bucket: A sturdy, multi-purpose water bucket for cleaning brushes is included for $8.5. 3. Palette: A mixing palette is an essential tool for blending colours effectively. Each kit includes a palette designed for easy mixing for $8.5. 4. Brushes: Brushes are essential tools for watercolor painting. You’ll receive two versatile brushes in different sizes, perfectly suited for this class, at a cost of $10. 5. Paper: High-quality watercolour paper is critical for achieving the best results. To ensure you’re using paper in optimal condition, I’ll provide it during each class session. This eliminates the risk of paper sizing (a protective gel layer on the paper) deteriorating, which can happen if stored improperly. The cost for the term’s paper is $10. Rain Shi is a passionate teaching artist who creates with a diverse range of mediums, including pencil, colour pencils, watercolour, and oils. Since studying under the esteemed Martina Pook, Rain has developed a deep love for sharing her artistic knowledge. Her journey as an educator began in 2022, when she started teaching children the fundamentals of realistic drawing. In 2024, she expanded her classes to include adults, continuing her mission to inspire and guide others in their creative pursuits.​Rain firmly believes that anyone, with the right guidance and practice, can learn how to draw and paint. Her teaching is driven by the desire to nurture the unique potential in each student, helping them discover the joy of art and the confidence that comes from expressing oneself through creativity.
