From the tropical Daintree rainforest to our own backyard gardens, there’s a myriad of Australia’s own native fluttery friends that are begging you to paint them!In this exciting watercolour workshop, you’ll learn some cool, creative and fun techniques to paint some of your favourites from sweet Blue-Banded bees, flamboyant Ulysses Butterflies, alluring ladybirds and elegant Tiger Dragonflies; what a wonderful celebration of Australia’s own beautiful little fauna (yes – we never knew a blue bee existed either)!Watercolour and its loose, fluid style are a beautiful skill to learn, and our workshops are a perfect introduction to this gorgeous medium, even if you’ve never tried it before.Join local illustrator Carlie Edwards as she first guides you in a practice session on mixing colours, brush techniques, layering, special effects and how to add detail to your final piece. Then the fun begins; choose from four different insect templates to create two of your own masterpieces.Enjoy playing with vivid colours to bring our well-loved fluttery friends to life, or you may like to paint your own colour combinations. We love that everyone’s results are always unique, and this workshop encourages creative expression to have fun with whatever colour combinations you like.
