This two-hour class (basic/intermediate) is beginner-friendly, as you will be guided step-by-step by your experienced teacher Kathryn. Kathryn holds a Diploma in Wagashi from Tokyo and has been practicing wagashi making for nearly six years now, which are primarily made using plant ingredients like white and red beans. All colorings used are organic superfood powders from flowers, herbs and fruits.
During the class, you will learn how the Nerikiri dough is made using locally sourced Australian grown beans. All materials are gently steamed, handmade and prepared without microwaves.
You will also learn how to color your dough to create different tones, hues and shades as well as make three assorted creative designs reflecting the beauty of current season with your imagination. All ingredients used are vegan friendly.
At the end of the class, you will be able to bring home your creative designs in special box.
Corporate or private team building activities are also available. BLISS Pure Foods Wagashi Sweets are also available for sales every Saturday at King's Cross Fitzroy Garden Organic Food Market.
