Use upcycled materials to create a gorgeous gnome for your garden at this unique textile art class in Brisbane!
In this fun class for beginners, you'll learn basic fabric hardening (powertex) and dry-brushing techniques and learn how to mix powertex products to create air-dried clay and shape your gnome.
The upcycling skills you learn in this class can be used on other plywood forms, journal covers, wooden frames and other off the page projects or to create fabric sculptures.
Feel free to bring along natural and found objects, textiles or memorabilia to add to your creation. We can experiment with embedding them to create your own unique or meaningful gnome to take home!
Three sizes are available $55 - Small (30cm); $80 - Medium (48cm); $120.00 Large (70cm) and you can add a small pot if you wish your gnome to be a planter. It is recommended that fabric hardener beginners and children do the smaller size.
A fun kids birthday arty party (8+ years) can be arranged - simply request a private booking. Parents may be required to attend for free (or can choose to be paying participants).
This is also a great activity for grandparents and grandchildren to do together - make it more fun and meaningful by swapping your gnomes at the end of the class!
