What you'll do

Why not try out Studio Subi's Japanese ink painting workshop in Perth and learn some new techniques and painting styles to be able to create your own masterpiece from scratch. In this class, you will be guided through the step by step process of painting your own bamboo, wild Asian orchid, plum blossom or chrysanthemum artwork by expert artist Yumi. The teacher will be pre-selecting the theme for the class, you can make a request for your preference in your booking notes. You'll begin with a brief history of this unique Japanese art form, and then you'll get hands-on with a carbon-ink brush and learn some painting techniques!Once you've practised your new skills, Yumi will guide you through the process of getting the right ink pigment to paint a traditional Sumi-e art on rice paper. Let your creativity flow through you and onto the page as you create art with your own hands!
