Stamp Making and Tea Towel Fabric Painting Class

A guided step-by-step workshop where you will get to create your own stamp designs to print on tea towels

2 hours Class size 10 to 12 guests     $95

Come along and join Petra Koehn-Meme at James Clark Gallery in Stafford Heights, for a guided step-by-step workshop where you will get to create two of your own stamp designs to print on three tea towels.
You will be guided to draw your design and make easy cuts into thin foam with scissors to create the two stamps to transfer the print onto your tea towels.
Choose the level of difficulty of the design, from a simple geometric shape to a detailed botanical design. You'll then learn how to transform these designs as a print onto your tea towels, using permanent fabric inks.
At the end of the class, you'll get to take home three beautiful single colour print tea towels, two linen and one cotton plus the two stamps you have created. Your stamps can then also be re-used at home.

Art was a huge influence from childhood, as an adult I started the journey with fashion design. The vibrant colours and intricate patterns of fabrics fascinated me, igniting a passion for creativity that would shape my artistic journey. As I delved deeper into the world of art, I found myself exploring various mediums such as painting, drawing, printing making, sculpture, ceramics, and more.
Driven by a desire to share my knowledge and skills with others, I embarked on a path of teaching. For over 10 years, I have dedicated myself to conducting workshops in collaboration with the Brisbane city council and various community centres. These workshops cater to individuals of all ages and backgrounds - from adults seeking an artistic outlet to children discovering their creative potential.
What sets my teaching style apart is its uniqueness and accessibility. I firmly believe that art should be inclusive and approachable for everyone. Through innovative techniques and engaging activities, I strive to make the learning process enjoyable and easy to grasp.
My workshops are not just about acquiring technical skills; they are also about fostering a sense of community and connection among participants.
