What you'll do
Come along to a social sewing night!In this workshop, you will join a community of fellow sewing enthusiasts to work on your own project while socialising with like-minded creatives. You can bring any sewing project you'd like to work on, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned sewer. Knitters are also welcome if that's more your vibe!Alleviate any fears of being a beginner as there will be plenty of help available for those new to sewing. You will be amazed at the tips and tricks you'll pick up from your fellow sewers, even if you're experienced.You'll enjoy a relaxed atmosphere as you sip on your favourite drink, whether it's wine, or complimentary tea and coffee. This social sewing night is an opportunity to unwind, meet new people and expand your sewing knowledge.By the end of the evening, you can expect to have made progress on your project and gained new insights into the art of sewing. Whether you’re looking for a chance to socialise, learn something new or simply enjoy a creative evening, this workshop offers the perfect setting for all sewing enthusiasts.

Knowledge required
You must be able to operate a sewing machine and sew independently for this class. Beginners are very welcome and advice will be available on the night, however this is not a strict class for teaching, it is a social event. If you are looking for taught classes, see our other classes.
What you'll get
- Access to all sewing amenities in the sewing studio including an overlocker threaded with white thread.
- A small cheese platter will be provided but feel free to bring your favourite snacks.
What to bring
- You should bring a sewing project you'd like to work on and any sewing materials/supplies you may need.
- Sewing machines are available to hire, but bringing your own machine is encouraged as there are limited spares available.
- This class is BYO drink and snacks. There are wine glasses and a mini fridge available in the studio.

Sip & Sew is a small boutique sewing studio located in Western Sydney. We host fun 'Sip & Sew' workshops, small group and private beginner sewing classes, and social sewing nights where all sewers and knitters are welcome! We want to bring sewing back in a fun and easy way. Sewing is not only a skill you will have for life, it's a creative outlet to express yourself and its amazing for your mental health and soul, oh and you can design groovy clothing that no ones else owns! We teach beginners all the sewing basics, from setting up the sewing machine for the first time, to detailed dressmaking, all while sipping on a cuppa! We have a core focus on sustainability, so almost all the fabric we have in the studio is sustainably sourced, and we love all things up-cycling and repurposing vintage linens!
