In this hands-on class, you will be guided through the process of carving, shaping and finishing a small wooden dish using traditional woodworking techniques and hand tools.Don't worry if you're new to woodworking, our experienced teacher will provide step-by-step demonstrations and individualised guidance to help you feel confident in your skills. You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll pick up the techniques and find yourself immersed in the meditative rhythm of the carving process.By the end of the class, you'll have a beautifully crafted wooden dish to proudly display in your home or give as a thoughtful handmade gift.

Your teacher
Using traditional tools and methods for creating is important to us, and passing on these skills is our passion. We have always been the types of people who would prefer to make something with our hands than to buy off the shelf. Sometimes there is nothing better than making with your own hands. We focus our workshops on the mindfulness of traditional making, and finding the technique that works for each person. Regardless if it is woodworking or leatherwork, we focus on teaching traditional ways to create. We find joy each time one of our workshop participants is beaming with pride when they step back and see what they have made.Sustainability is also an important component of what we do. The timber we use is sustainably sourced from small, local timber suppliers. Our leather is sourced right here in Brisbane, where they have developed sustainable practices to produce Vegtan leather.
