Course outline:
Week 1: We jump straight onto the wheels and set the tone for our six week journey together. Kicking off with a demonstration of how-to, which might serve as a refresher or a starting point.
Whether you have done pottery before or not, there's always something you can learn. We'll spend the first session seeing where you're at and what you can make, focusing our creations on a bowl. You will make three to four pieces this session.
Week 2-3: We give time for the skills to develop with lots of time to practice. We may take our pieces from a bowl, to more of a mug, or even a vase, creating higher pieces, or adding curves, collars and flares to your skill repertoire. You will make three to four pieces this session.
Week 4: This is where we bring it all together! We'll create four beautifully refined pieces. Across the four weeks, you choose you top four most refined pieces to carve, decorate, alter and glaze.
Week 5: Altering your refined pieces to prepare it for firing and glazing. Here you might trim the bases of your pieces, add a handle to a mug or add decorative features to add character to your pieces.
Week 6: We've made it to the final stage. Glazing! Taking your four beautiful pieces, you will glaze and bring them to life.
There's so much amazingness here!
Note:
  • To gain the full experience, it is recommended that you commit to the entire six weeks before signing up. If you can't make a date for any reason, we will try our best to fit you in for a make-up session as best as we can, however it's not guarantied.
  • We will also open up alternative times in the future. Please don't hesitate to request alternative times that work for you and we can absolutely work around making this happen.
