What you'll do
Don't miss Shannan Whitby's fun resin art workshop in Perth, where you can create your own personalised gifts for Christmas!In this beginner-friendly class, you will learn how to use resin to create two incredible cheeseboards and four funky coasters. You'll get to work with gorgeous colours, patterns, and shapes to give your cheeseboard a unique twist!After your expert resin artist has demonstrated the process, you can get creative with colours and practise some basic mixing and pouring techniques to make your resin art.Don't worry if you've never tried resin art before; your teacher will give you some great tips and tricks to help you make a quality piece to take home or gift to a loved one.Experience the calming process of bringing your imagination to life in this resin art workshop in Perth. You'll leave with new skills, two fabulous new cheeseboards to use for your next charcuterie spread, and a set of coasters you can keep or gift to a loved one for Christmas!Please note:
- This class requires at least four students to run. In the unlikely event that numbers are not met, the class will be cancelled, you will be fully refunded, and informed via email.
- Resin is a two-part chemical with strong fumes. Due to potential health dangers, all workshop participants are supplied with N95 Fume masks, gloves, aprons, and instructions on how to safely heat and manipulate the resin. Correct and safe use of heat torches (up to 600 degrees) and butane burners (open flame).
- Anyone entering the resin studio must wear the provided PPE.
- Due to the safety precautions, this workshop is not suitable for pregnant women and anyone under 18 years of age.

Please make sure to wear older clothes and enclosed shoes, as resin can get sticky and messy!

Equine & pet portrait, seascape, abstract & Resin Artist.After excelling in Art at Mercedes College, I was accepted to Edith Cowan University studying Visual Arts. And later Business & Professional Accounting at Curtin University. After a 20-year career working and Studying in Book Keeping & Accounting until 2016, I began painting again and realised where my passion was.The opportunity arose in December 2018 to open a Children's Art Studio, I have been working to create and develop a Fun and Comprehensive Curriculum to teach a wide range of skills and mediums to children whilst teaching correct technique in a manner that can be adapted to different skill levels.Working from my East Victoria Park studio, I teach Childrens Art Classes on Saturdays. I Offer Resin Art, Pastels Painting, Alcohol Inks, Oil Painting & Other fluid & Abstract workshops for Adults.I have been working with Resin since 2018 and have exhibited some of my large scale Seascapes in December 2020 & sold many pieces to Western Australian clients & galleries.I like to teach children a wide range of mediums including Drawing, Clay, Acrylic, Pastel and Oil Paints. I generally work in Pastels for custom portraits and Oils for my more contemporary style painting. I specialise in original commissioned Custom portrait paintings and more contemporary stylistic, colourful works. I had always been an animal lover and have always been drawn to horses. Over the past years I have worked hard to develop my own style of Equine Art.
