Join us for a social resin art class in Underwood where you’ll learn how to make a resin painting inspired by mineral geodes. You’ll walk away feeling so proud that you’ve created your own resin masterpiece to display in your home!
It doesn’t matter if you've never worked with resin before. This two-and-a-half-hour DIY workshop is for complete beginners and makes a fantastic activity if you’re looking for fun things to do in Brisbane with friends, family or even solo.
During this relaxing session, resin expert Myléne will teach you all the tips and tricks needed to create the contours, bands and veining that mineral geodes are known for. You’ll get to completely switch off and immerse yourself in the process. Choose your own colours, add glitter for sparkle and then form the crystal structure that geodes are known for using glass chips.
Once you’ve completed your 12”x9” painting, the resin will need to cure for 24 hours before you can collect it. Arrangements can be made during the class for pick up.

Hi! I'm Myléne Hillam, resin expert, freelance designer for the craft industry and author of two jewellery making books.
My passion for resin can be traced back to my first year in high school and the manual arts department where I got to play - and fall in love - with plastics as an art medium. Sadly, resin wasn't part of the curriculum until the next year and I had to wait until 15 years ago when the opportunity to work with resin crossed my path again so I jumped right in, and I've been learning and creating with resin ever since.
Along the way, I've worked with major resin manufacturers in the US to produce their product videos, create educational materials for their clients and design numerous resin projects for their trade show booths. One of the fun things my expertise with resin has allowed me to do is to travel internationally to demonstrate resin products at trade shows.
My mission is to share what I know about resin with you. I deliver a quality and fun learning experience for beginners who want to have a go at working with resin. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve with the right guidance.
I love getting other people as excited about resin as I am. It's a truly addictive medium to play with and the possibilities of what you can do with it are endless.
