Cairns Craft Cottage is the permanent HQ for three local creative businesses; Kit & Co Creations, Sweetpea Finery and Cookie Couture all headed by Cat Carmady.
Cat Carmady is known for her talent in creating and crafting. She began her career with a degree from QUT, after which she became the event manager for the north's largest cultural events, Festival Cairns.
Eventually she turned her skills to the family business, working alongside her husband to grow their thriving sign manufacturing business.
It was when she was expecting her first child that Cat rediscovered her love of crafting. Over ten years she established and grew a successful millinery boutique Sweetpea Finery whilst raising her three children.
In 2020, whilst isolating during the pandemic Cat became fascinated with the medium of polymer clay, and 3D printing. This lead to establishing a highly successful jewellery supply business Kit & Co.
In 2022 Cat achieved a long held dream to buy and renovate a classic cottage in the heart of Cairns from which to run her businesses.
This adorable location incorporates a workshop space where locals can come and express themselves through arts and crafts, and learn new skills.
